UATC webinar on policing, Launch of the Policy Paper Addressing torture and other ill-treatment in the context of protests

Please Advise: Due to this session being hosted within the Human Rights Council, the time of this session is subject to change by the HRC organisers. By registering here, you will get an email notifying you of changes to the currently advertised start time of 1400 CEST.

All too often, the repression of protests is characterised by levels of violence that are not permissible under international law and standards that prohibit torture and other cruel, inhuman or degrading treatment and punishment. Grounded on the pressing need to take action, locally and globally, the United Against Torture Consortium (UATC) will launch a policy paper that highlights urgent measures that States should take to respect and protect the right to be free from torture and other ill-treatment in the context of protests.
