Strengthen the National Network of relatives and torture survivors

The objective of this online event is to create a space for meaningful exchange among survivors of torture and their relatives across Latin America. The event seeks to foster a shared dialogue on building collective strategies for action, ranging from individual resilience to community mobilisation. In particular, the role of family members has emerged as a cornerstone in the struggle against torture. By acting as frontline agents of prevention, they have played a crucial part in identifying acts of torture and ill-treatment, as well as in denouncing ongoing violations.
This online dialogue will feature the participation of three platforms of relatives and survivors of torture in the region:
- member of the Network of Survivors and Victims of Torture in Latin America
- member of a Network of victims and survivors in Mexico
- member of the International Network of Women Relatives of Persons Deprived of their Liberty (RIMUF)
- moderated by the World Organisation Against Torture (OMCT)
